TOCA Condemns Racism: A Message from the CEO

Like so many of you, I am pained and outraged by recent events in our country which highlight the deeply ingrained prejudices and injustices that still exist in our communities today.

I feel compelled to condemn racism, and to reaffirm my commitment to make TOCA a place of inclusion for our teammates and guests. TOCA is a place where people can be their true selves, where respect is fundamental and heartfelt, and where everyone belongs. We also build a culture of camaraderie that celebrates our achievements and supports one another through difficulties. In line with these values, we will not accept hate, racism or intolerance of any kind at TOCA.

It speaks to youth in a language they understand. Sport can create hope where once there was only despair. It is more powerful than government in breaking down racial barriers.”

We can only grow together by listening and learning, by having courageous conversations, and by cultivating a trusting environment where all teammates feel safe, comfortable and empowered to voice their ideas, thoughts and concerns. We’ve also established a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee to listen and to help foster an inclusive environment for our teammates and the communities we serve. We will continue to support these values at TOCA and beyond.
